Hi Aidan, what are your rates/prices?
Hi! I calculate my rates based on the project/what you need from a shoot itself.
You can start by answering these 3 questions:
1. What is the purpose of the photoshoot? (Personal or Commercial)
1a. If for Commercial purposes, on which platforms are you looking to use the images on and for?
2. What are you looking to do for the photoshoot?
(Eg: "I want to do a 90's styled fashion shoot!" or even "I don't know what I want yet")
3. How many final photos are you looking to have? (An estimate is fine)
Let me know via the form of communication you have contacted me with and i'll draft a rough quote for you based on the details you've provided.
Why don't you charge by hour?
I don't charge by hour as every single shoot is different.
Especially within the realm of fashion photography & fine art, which I operate in.
eg: An editorial fashion shoot will have a different requirement than a commissioned photoshoot for a music artist.
I've made the conscious decision to not calculate my rate by hour as in my experience, charges by hour negatively encourages a client to either rush or exploit the photographer to do more within less time, or for a photographer to drag the shoot in order to bill the client a higher rate.
The result of such a pricing system is a natural distrust, which causes a strained and unproductive working environment.
I trust that my clients approach me to work with them because of my perspective, style of work and expertise, in addition to the mutual respect that we have for each other. With that, I quote a rate based on what is expected/needed for the photoshoot itself and I provide a rough estimate of time it may take to execute the photoshoot.
How long does it take for you to deliver the final photos?
On average, it would take around 2 weeks for the final photos to be delivered to you via a cloud storage link, such as Google Drive.
The reason for that, is that I myself single-handedly handle all of my shoots and work from top to bottom and have an active backlog of images from other photoshoots prior that I have to work through.
What can I do if I need them ASAP?
You can pay an "Express fee" for me to prioritize your photoshoot over the other clients.
This option is subjected to availability, depending on the nature of your project.
